Montclair State University Parking Garage & Rail Station

Background

In order to provide better and easy direct access to New York City for commuters from Northern New Jersey, NJ Transit enlisted Prismatic Development to perform as the design/build General Contractor for the seven-level 1,700 car parking garage.

The Challenge

All construction of the rail station was completed in an active railroad and required the scheduling and coordination for track closures.

Our Solution

This 500,000 square foot structure also was outfitted with a new rail station, a pedestrian bridge, ticket office, restrooms and a convenience stand. This project also entailed the construction of 800 feet of station platforms, realignment of 1,200 feet of track, and over $1 million in roadway and traffic signal improvements.
